May 27, 2026. Louisville, KY. – The Kentucky Derby Festival is lacing up to celebrate Global Running Day on Wednesday, June 3. Runners will receive special pricing on registration for the 2027 Race Weekend, including the Humana miniMarathon and Marathon, the Kentucky Derby Festival 5K Presented by First Urology and the Race Challenge. The promotion is for one day only!
“Global Running Day is a chance to celebrate our running community and the sport that connects so many people,” said Chris Martini, Kentucky Derby Festival Race Director. “We’re marking the occasion with special one day pricing on the 2027 Race Weekend events, giving participants the opportunity to save on registration and secure their spot for next year.”
Beginning on Wednesday, June 3, at 12:01 a.m. until 11:59 p.m., registration will be offered at discounted rates when participants register at DerbyFestivalMarathon.com:
- $55 for the miniMarathon
- $65 for the Marathon
- $45 for the 5K
- $50 for the Virtual mini & Marathon
- $325 for the Marathon Relay
- $100 for the KDF miniMarathon Race Challenge (5K and miniMarathon)
- $110 for the KDF Marathon Race Challenge (5K and Marathon)
As part of the Global Running Day promotion, special race merchandise will also be available. The merch can be added onto a race registration purchase at DerbyFestivalMarathon.com.
Global Running Day is a worldwide celebration of running that encourages people of all ages and abilities to get moving. The Humana miniMarathon and Marathon is set for Saturday, April 24, 2027, and will mark the 54th run of the miniMarathon and the 26th year for the Marathon. Runners from all 50 states and several countries come to Louisville for the road races on the last Saturday in April. The third annual Festival 5K Presented by First Urology is scheduled for Friday, April 23.
