April 20, 2015 Louisville, KY. – The Don Fightmaster Golf Outing for Exceptional Children, set for next Monday, April 27, is moving to the Seneca Golf Course. The annual Kentucky Derby Festival event, hosted by the Don Fightmaster Committee and Kentucky Golf Foundation, has traditionally been held at the Shawnee Golf Course. However, with the high rain totals this month, the area where the event is held is not playable and very wet.
Said Kentucky Golf Foundation Executive Director, Steve McMillen,”We thank the Louisville Metro Parks staff for making the relocation of this fantastic event seamless. Seneca will be a great host for the Fightmaster outing and we are looking forward to a great day of golf for Jefferson County’s Exceptional Children – rain or shine.”
All other event details will remain the same, with golf beginning at 9 a.m. and lunch from Salsaritas and awards presented by the Derby Festival Royal Court to follow. Seneca, which hosts the Stock Yards Bank & Trust Company Kentucky Derby Festival $1 Million Dollar Hole-in-One Golf Contest finals, will be a terrific location with a nine-hole youth course already on site

The Derby Festival is an independent community organization supported by 4,000 volunteers, 400 businesses and civic groups, Pegasus Pin sponsorships and event participation. It entertains more than 1.5 million people annually. This involvement has made the Festival the largest single attended event in Kentucky and one of the leading community celebrations in the world.
