5/29/2015 – DERBY FESTIVAL YARD SALE SET FOR JUNE 12-13

May 29, 2015. Louisville, KY.   The Kentucky Derby Festival will hold its 14th annual Yard Sale on Friday and Saturday, June 12 and 13, at the KDF office at 1001 South Third Street in Old Louisville. The sale will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday. The Yard Sale will feature many items including event t-shirts, Derby Festival Pins, posters from years past, glassware, Christopher Radko collector’s ornaments, and other pieces that span the Festival’s history.

There will be an exclusive offer for Derby Festival Marathon & miniMarathon participants again this year.  All shoppers that attend the Yard Sale wearing a medal from any previous Derby Festival race will have the opportunity to purchase 2015 ASICS Technical Marathon/minimarathon shirts at $10 each and receive a second for free. This offer is only good while supplies last.

Other items include cotton event T-shirts ($3 each or 2 for $5), past Derby Festival posters for $10, Thunder Over Louisville posters for $2, postcards for $2, glasses and close-out pricing on 2015 Official KDF merchandise.

The Derby Festival Pin Wagon also returns, featuring 2015 metal event, corporate and balloon pins, as well as plastic pins from 1973-2015. There will be a Special Pin Room open at the Festival Office with metal event, balloon and corporate pins from 1989 to 2014 available at greatly reduced prices. A special edition Exchange Pin is being offered to collectors in limited quantities for $40 each or 2 for $70.

Four editions of the Christopher Radko holiday ornaments – “A Good Foundation,” “Eight Belles,” “Belle of Louisville” and “Fleur-de-Cure” – will be offered for sale up to 60% off the original retail price.

The event typically attracts large crowds, so patrons are encouraged to come early and pick up some great items at very reasonable prices. Cash and credit cards will be accepted for purchases.

The Derby Festival is an independent community organization supported by 4,000 volunteers, 400 businesses and civic groups, Pegasus Pin sponsorships and event participation.  It entertains more than 1.5 million people annually. This involvement has made the Festival the largest single attended event in Kentucky and one of the leading community celebrations in the world.
