May 31, 2024. Louisville, KY. – The Kentucky Derby Festival is hitting the ground running to celebrate Global Running Day on Wednesday, June 5. Runners will receive special pricing on registration for the 2025 GE Appliances miniMarathon and Marathon for one day only!
“We’re celebrating Global Running Day by opening up registration for Kentucky’s largest day of road racing for one day” said Chris Martini, Kentucky Derby Festival Race Director. “This is your opportunity to get an exclusive deal on registration and secure your spot in the 2025 races.”
Beginning at 9 a.m. EST on Wednesday, June 5 and running through 9 a.m. EST on Thursday, June 6, registration will be offered at a discounted rate:
- $55 for the miniMarathon
- $65 for the Marathon
As part of the Global Running Day promotion, special race merchandise will also be available. Items include a women’s tank top and a unisex short sleeve shirt ($20 each and made of a moisture wicking technical fabric), and a Headsweats running hat ($30 and featuring a terrycloth sweatband). Merchandise can be added onto a race registration purchase at DerbyFestivalMarathon.com during the one-day promotion.
Global Running Day is a worldwide celebration of running that encourages people of all ages and abilities to get moving. The GE Appliances miniMarathon and Marathon is set for Saturday, April 26. 2025 marks the 52nd run of the miniMarathon and the 24th year for the Marathon. Runners from all 50 states and several countries come to Louisville on the last Saturday in April.
