March 6, 2023. Louisville, KY. – Ready for Spring? Fans are invited to help jump-start their Kentucky Derby Festival season at Main Event’s Pegasus Pin Party! The Derby Festival is celebrating Pegasus Pin wearin’ season with a family-friendly celebration at Main Event in Louisville (12500 Sycamore Station Place) on Tuesday, March 7, from 5 PM until 7 PM.
Festival Fans can purchase their 2023 Pegasus Pins at the party or wear one they have already purchased. Everyone with a 2023 Pegasus Pin will receive special deals and promotions.
The Main Event Pegasus Pin Party kicks off PIN Tuesdays, which will happen every Tuesday night through May 9th. When you wear your Pegasus Pin to Main Event, you are eligible for special deals and promotions throughout the entire Derby season!
This week 2023 Pegasus Pins will be available at dozens of retail outlets. The pins can be found at grocery stores, gas stations, banks, and other retail outlets in Kentuckiana from Elizabethtown to Louisville, as well as in Southern Indiana. They can also be purchased online at PegasusPins.com. The pins are $7 each when purchased in advance at retail locations and $10 at the entrance to events. Festival Fun Packs, which include a package of 5 Pegasus Pins, also return this year for $30.
About Pegasus Pins: The Pegasus Pin Sponsorship program was started as an awareness campaign for the Derby Festival in 1973. At that time, only 10,000 of the plastic pins were produced. The 1973 version of the pin is valued at $800-$1,000 and it’s rare to find them. Since then, the pin sponsorships have become one of the primary sources of funding for Derby Festival events.
