KDF and Kentucky Lottery Give You 25 MORE Reasons to Play

January 27, 2014. Louisville, KY. – The Kentucky Derby Festival and Kentucky Lottery are joining forces to name someone the 2014 Festival Fanatic! One lucky winner, as part of a second-chance promotion, will have the opportunity to claim 25 individual Festival experiences ranging from VIP treatment at more than a dozen Festival events to being the Thundernator for the Festival’s Opening Ceremonies – the person who activates the fireworks sequence and starts Thunder Over Louisville.

“Our winner last year had an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience while getting to press the button that started Thunder,” said Chip Polston, vice president of communications for the Kentucky Lottery Corporation. “The addition of 24 more amazing experiences during Derby week will only make this a more incredible prize for one very lucky Kentucky Lottery player.”

To enter the promotion, players must sign-in or register for a Fun Club Rewards account at www.kylottery.com. Once logged in, a player will be able to submit an eligible current non-winning $2 Kentucky Cash Ball or Kentucky’s 5 Card Cash ticket for a chance to be named Festival Fanatic. (“Current” $2 games are defined as those for which the last date to claim have not expired.) All entries must be received by 11:59 P.M. E.S.T. on March 11, 2014.

The drawing for the “Festival Fanatic” will take place on March 12. The prize package includes 25 Derby Festival experiences. Some of those prizes include being the 2014 Thunder Over Louisville Thundernator, a helicopter ride at the Derby Festival Thunder Preview Party, a chance to fly in one of the Thunder Air Show aircraft, a hot air balloon ride, a ride in the official pace car of the marathon/miniMarathon, seats on Millionaires Row during Celebrity Day at the Downs and $1,000 spending money! Thunder Over Louisville – the Derby Festival’s Opening Ceremonies – is one of nearly 70 events produced by the Derby Festival in the spring. The 2014 show is set for Saturday, April 12, and will be the will be the 25th annual production.

The Kentucky Derby Festival is an independent community organization supported by 4,000 volunteers, 400 businesses and civic groups, Pegasus Pin sponsorships and event participation. It entertains more than 1.5 million people in a two-to three-week period every spring.
