4/24/2014 – DJ Z-TRIP AND ELECTRONIC DANCE MUSIC ON FEST-A-VILLE STAGE FRIDAY

April 24, 2014. Louisville, KY.   – The Kentucky Derby Festival is bringing the hot new craze in music to Kroger’s Fest-a-Ville on the Waterfront.  On Friday, April 25, the Great Stage will feature Electronic Dance Music (EDM) with DJ Z-Trip.  The concert starts at 9 p.m. and admission is a 2014 Pegasus Pin. Kentucky National Guard is contributing sponsor of the concert.

Z-Trip’s roots are based in Hip Hop, but he covers and loves all music styles. Considered by many as the godfather of mash-ups, his style of mixing and producing reaches way beyond that.  Z-Trip performed during the Coke Zero Countdown at the 2014 NCAA March Madness Music Festival in Dallas, Texas. He also closed out the 2013 Grammy Awards, alongside LL Cool J, Chuck D, Tom Morello and Travis Barker. He’s appeared on Jimmy Fallon, Carson Daly and Jimmy Kimmel Live.

The FREE concerts continue with Everclear on Saturday, April 26; Celebration Sunday on April 27 featuring Audio Adrenaline with special guests Kutless, Finding Favour, Shine Bright Baby, and Carrollton; Ohio Players and Original Lakeside take to the stage on Tuesday, April 29; Sam Roberts Band with LEAGUES is Wednesday, April 30.  Nearly 30 free concerts featuring local and regional talent will also be featured on the Miller Lite Music Stage inside the Chow Wagon at Kroger’s Fest-a-Ville.

Kroger’s Fest-a-Ville on the Waterfront is open through Friday, May 2.  The venue will once again be located at Waterfront Park.  The Fest-A-Ville venue will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. This ultimate entertainment experience offers national concerts, family fun, food vendors, a children’s inflatable playground, midway rides and more.  Kroger is title sponsor of the event, with contributing sponsor Miller Lite.

Since 1956, the Derby Festival has worked to bring the community together in celebration. The Festival is an independent community organization supported by 4,000 volunteers, 400 businesses and civic groups, Pegasus Pin sponsorships and event participation. This involvement has made the Festival the largest single attended event in Kentucky and one of the leading community celebrations in the world.
