Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Health Fair Set for Tuesday

April 28, 2014. Louisville, KY.   – The Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Health Fair returns this year and will be held in conjunction with the Republic Bank Pegasus Parade Preview Party on Tuesday, April 29. The event, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Kentucky Exposition Center in South Wing C, promotes healthy families and healthy lifestyles, providing information and free health screenings for families and children.

“As we prepare to celebrate the ‘most exciting two minutes in sports,’ don’t forget to spend a couple minutes taking care of your health,” said Deb Moessner, president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Kentucky. “Stop by the Health Fair to check your blood pressure or BMI and pick up information to help you live a healthier life.”

This year’s event will include an interactive display by the Kentucky Beef Council; the Learning Rx will be demonstrating cognitive learning skills testing; Kynect is providing information regarding new health insurance; the Sullivan University College of Pharmacy will offer glucose, cholesterol, and blood pressure screenings; and the Wolter Chiropractic and Wellness Center will also offer computerized stress analysis exams.  YMCA of Greater Louisville, Derby City Pediatric Dentistry, Earth Fare, Catching Healthy Habits for Kids, and KaZoing will also participate in this year’s event, along with many others.

Admission to the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Health Fair is a 2014 Pegasus Pin (the admission also includes the Republic Bank Pegasus Parade Preview Party). The Kentucky Derby Festival Health Fair is sponsored by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield for the seventh consecutive year. WAKY 103.5 is the event’s contributing sponsor.

Since 1956, the Derby Festival has worked to bring the community together in celebration. The Festival is an independent community organization supported by 4,000 volunteers, 400 businesses and civic groups, Pegasus Pin sponsorships and event participation. This involvement has made the Festival the largest single attended event in Kentucky and one of the leading community celebrations in the world.
