12/2/2015 – DERBY FESTIVAL ADDS SANTA HAT TO OFFICIAL UNIFORM FOR THE HOLIDAYS

December 2, 2015 Louisville, KY.  – ‘Tis the season!  The Kentucky Derby Festival and the Kentucky Derby Festival Foundation are getting in the holiday spirit with the Salvation Army this weekend. Festival and Foundation Board members and staff are adding a Santa hat to the official Festival uniform to help at the Salvation Army Angel Tree.  They will be collecting toys at the Mall St. Matthews Angel Tree from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5.

“The Derby Festival Foundation works year-round to further the spirit of celebration and community in Louisville,” said Jeff English, KDF Foundation President.  “We hope to bring that same spirit to the Angel Tree this weekend.”

The Louisville Salvation Army Angel Tree program provides underprivileged children with holiday gifts to let them know someone cares. Each year approximately 4,000 families with over 10,000 children are served through the program
