January 7, 2016 Louisville, KY. – Spring is around the corner, and tickets for the first official Kentucky Derby Festival event of 2016 go on sale this Friday! The event – Festival Unveiled – is set for Wednesday, March 2nd at 5 p.m. This year’s event will be held at a new location at the Mellwood Arts Center.
Tickets for Festival Unveiled go on sale this Friday, January 8th at 10 a.m. Tickets are $30 in advance and are available online at www.kdf.org or by calling (502) 584-FEST. The event will feature the 2016 official Festival poster and merchandise for the first time. Festival Unveiled guests will also receive the 2016 Official Derby Festival program with complete details of the upcoming Festival.
While enjoying the evening, guests also have an opportunity to bid on a silent auction of uniquely framed posters. The 2016 Poster Artist will also be on hand to sign copies of the image. The event begins at 5 p.m., featuring cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, sweets from Kern’s Kitchen Derby-Pie® and Cellar Door Chocolates and wine from Old 502 Winery.
Four Roses Bourbon, will also hold the 13th Annual Rose Julep Recipe Contest in conjunction with Festival Unveiled. The Rose Julep Contest challenges Louisville-area mixologists to showcase their skills in front of a panel of local celebrity and beverage industry judges evaluating each Julep based on taste, presentation and creativity. Event attendees will also have a chance to sample the five Rose Julep finalist recipes and vote for the “People’s Choice” Rose Julep.

The Derby Festival is an independent community organization supported by 4,000 volunteers, 400 businesses and civic groups, Pegasus Pin sponsorships and event participation.
