April 30, 2016 Louisville, KY. – Christian contemporary music and gospel choirs will be showcased on the stages tomorrow at Kroger’s Fest-a-Ville. The Passport Health Plan GospelFest starts at 2 p.m. on the Music Stage at Chow Wagon. The Celebration Sunday concert with WJIE featuring Matt Maher, John Tibbs, and Hannah Kerr starts at 5 p.m. on the Great Stage at Kroger’s Fest-a-Ville. Admission to both shows is a 2016 Pegasus Pin.
Joe Purcell and Courageous, along with LeMar Campbell, will headline this year’s Passport Health Plan GospelFest. The event features gospel choirs from around the region and they’ll perform throughout the day. GospelFest is sponsored by Passport Health Plan with Media Sponsors B96.5 and WLOU/New Praize 104.7.
This year’s Celebration Sunday concert features Matt Maher, an award winning contemporary Christian music artist. His latest album, “Saints and Sinners” hit No. 2 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart. With singles “Because He Lives (Amen),” “Lord I Need You,” and “Hold Us Together,” Maher has built a national fan base since his 2008 major label debut. He is an eight-time Grammy nominee and was also awarded Songwriter of the Year at the 2015 GMA Dove Awards. John Tibbs and Hannah Kerr will open the show. Tibbs released his first studio album earlier this year titled, “Dead Man Walking,” and Kerr’s single “I Stand Here” is sure to lift the crowd. Celebration Sunday is sponsored by WJIE.
Kroger’s Fest-a-Ville is open through Derby Eve, Friday, May 6. Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, except Sunday 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. This ultimate entertainment experience offers national concerts, family fun, food vendors, a children’s inflatable playground, midway rides and more.
