04/22/25 – RACE EXPO OPENS THURSDAY AT FREEDOM HALL

PACKET PICK-UP FOR miniMARATHON, MARATHON AND NEW FESTIVAL 5K

April 22, 2025. Louisville, KY. – Runners participating in the GE Appliances miniMarathon and Marathon, and the new Festival 5K Presented by First Urology, can pick up their race packets starting Thursday, April 24 at the Race Expo and Packet Pick-Up. More than 10,000 people are expected to attend the two-day event, which returns for the third year to Freedom Hall at the Kentucky Exposition Center, 937 Phillips Lane (enter through Gates 1 or 4). It’s open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 25.

The Race Expo features packet pick-up for the miniMarathon, Marathon and Festival 5K races and is a one-stop-shop showcasing the latest in health and fitness products, athletic apparel, shoes and accessories. Attendees can pick up race day gear from Swags Sport Shoes and other vendors, as well as visit the Official Derby Festival Race Day Merchandise Shop. In addition, they can chat with the Norton Sports Health Team and participate in assisted stretch and injury-prevention work with KORT Physical Therapy’s Rehab Team. Runners can also pick up a 2025 race magnet and enjoy sampling opportunities.

The Race Expo is the only opportunity for those participating in the Friday and Saturday races to pick up their packets. There is no packet pick-up on race day.

Late registration for runners of the miniMarathon ($135) and Marathon ($150) is available at the Expo until 5 p.m. on Friday, April 25. The GE Appliances miniMarathon and Marathon, set for Saturday, April 26, will start simultaneously at 7 a.m. on Main Street, near Slugger Field. New for 2025, the Finish Line will return to Preston and Witherspoon streets, just outside of the Waterfront. This year marks the 52nd annual miniMarathon and the 24th run of the Marathon.

The inaugural Festival 5K Presented by First Urology is SOLD OUT and no late registration is available. The 5K will make its debut on Friday evening, April 25, at 7 p.m. Participants will run a looped course that starts and finishes at Harbor Lawn in Waterfront Park and includes a lap on the Big Four Bridge.

All miniMarathon, Marathon and 5K participants will receive a medal and a t-shirt. For more info about the races and to register for the miniMarathon or Marathon, visit DerbyFestivalMarathon.com.
