SPECIAL VALENTINE’S PROMOTION KICKS OFF TODAY
February 9, 2024, Louisville, KY. – Spots are filling up fast for Kentucky’s largest day of road racing! Registration for the GE Appliances miniMarathon and Marathon, set for Saturday, April 27, 2024, has reached more than 50 percent capacity. The cap for both races combined is 12,000 participants. Runners can secure their spot by registering at DerbyFestivalMarathon.com. Participants can also receive a special discount on registration with a limited-time Valentine’s promotion the Derby Festival launched today.
“This is a special year to be part of the GE Appliances miniMarathon & Marathon, as participants get to run through Churchill Downs just a week before the horses run in the 150th Kentucky Derby,” said Chris Martini, Kentucky Derby Festival Race Director. “We encourage those planning to participate to sign up now to secure their spot and join us on the last Saturday in April.”
The “Share the Love & Registration” promotion runs today (Friday, Feb. 9) through Sunday, Feb. 18. Any two people (or more) who register together in one transaction will each receive $10 off registration. Runners can register at DerbyFestivalMarathon.com. Current registration is $110 for the miniMarathon and $120 for the Marathon.
The GE Appliances miniMarathon and Marathon will start simultaneously at 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, on Main Street, near Slugger Field, and then finish on Adams Street, just outside of the Lynn Family Stadium, the Official Finish Line for both the mini and Marathon. 2024 also marks the return of the full Marathon to Louisville’s South End.
All runners will receive a rose after they cross the Finish Line this year. This rose is front and center on the Finisher’s Medal to honor the 150th Run for the Roses. 2024 marks the 51st annual miniMarathon and the 23rd run of the Marathon.
