Friday, February 23, 2024. Louisville, KY. – The iconic symbol of the Kentucky Derby Festival and springtime in Louisville has arrived! The first shipment of the 2024 Derby Festival Pegasus Pins were delivered this morning to Evan Williams Bourbon Experience on Main Street in downtown Louisville’s Whiskey Row. It’s the first place you can purchase this year’s Pins starting today for $7 each. Heaven Hill Distillery has also produced a special Evan Williams Single Barrel Limited Edition Kentucky Derby Festival Bourbon Bottle to commemorate the 52nd edition of the collectible Pins. The bottle features a Gold Pegasus Pin sealed in silver wax on the neck of each bottle, as well as an Official 2024 Pegasus Pin in an envelope attached to the bottle.

The Derby Festival collaborated with Churchill Downs on this year’s special Pin design, which celebrates the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby. It features the Festival’s Pegasus symbol and official teal color along with the number “150” in red, a signature color of the Kentucky Derby.

“This year’s Pegasus Pin marks a special milestone for our city. We hope everyone will help us “Pin the Town Derby” to celebrate!” said Matt Gibson, Kentucky Derby Festival President & CEO. “Along with being your ticket to Derby Festival fun, Pegasus Pins also include coupons to local retailers and any Pin is a chance to win one of our 15 weekly Grand Prizes.”

Evan Williams Bourbon Experience (528 W. Main St.) will be the only location in town selling Pegasus Pins now through March 1st. The commemorative bottles are available for purchase at the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience beginning today and while supplies last for $84.99. Only 800 of the limited-edition bottles will be available.

“The Evan Williams Bourbon Experience is honored to host the annual bottle dipping of this limited Single Barrel release with the Kentucky Derby Festival,” said Jodie Filiatreau, Evan Willams Bourbon Experience Artisanal Distiller. “We’re grateful for the Festival’s partnership especially as the Derby City celebrates the 150th running of this iconic race and the amazing events leading up to it.”

Starting Friday, March 1st, the Pins will be available at retail locations including grocery stores, gas stations, banks, and other retail outlets in Kentuckiana from Elizabethtown to Louisville, as well as in Southern Indiana.
