RACE EXPO HAS A NEW HOME FOR 2023

LATE REGISTRATION OPEN TILL 5 PM FRIDAY

April 25, 2023. Louisville, KY. – Runners participating in the GE Appliances miniMarathon and Marathon can pick up their race packets starting Thursday, April 27, at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Race Expo and Packet Pick-Up. More than 10,000 people are expected to attend the two-day Race Expo, which moves to a new location in 2023 at Freedom Hall at the Kentucky Exposition Center, 2801 Crittenden Drive (enter through Gate 4). It’s open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 28.

Late registration for runners is also available at the Expo until 5 p.m. on Friday, April 28. Late registration for the miniMarathon is $115 and $125 for the Marathon.

The Race Expo features packet pick-up for the miniMarathon and Marathon and is a one-stop-shop showcasing the latest in health and fitness products, athletic apparel, shoes and accessories. Attendees can pick up race day gear from Swag’s Sport Shoes and other vendors, as well as visit the Official Derby Festival Race Day Merchandise Shop. They can also talk with the Norton Sports Health Team and pick up a 2023 race magnet, plus enjoy sampling and tasting opportunities during the two-day event.

2023 marks a historic milestone for the miniMarathon, which is celebrating its 50th run this year. It’s the 22nd year for the Marathon. The spring races mark the largest day of road racing in Kentucky. For the 2023 event, the Derby Festival is offering multiple options for participants including the miniMarathon (half marathon), the full Marathon, and a Marathon Relay; plus, virtual races for both the half and full marathon.

The GE Appliances Kentucky Derby Festival miniMarathon and Marathon is set for Saturday, April 29. The Race Expo is the only opportunity for those participating in Saturday’s race to pick up their packets. There is no packet pick-up on race day. The in-person races will start simultaneously at 7 a.m. at Brook and Main Street and then finish on Adams Street, just outside of the Lynn Family Stadium, the Official Finish Line for both the mini and Marathon.
