May 28, 2025. Louisville, KY. – The Kentucky Derby Festival is hitting the ground running to celebrate Global Running Day on Wednesday, June 4. Runners will receive special pricing on registration for the 2026 GE Appliances miniMarathon and Marathon and the Kentucky Derby Festival 5K Presented by First Urology for one day only!
“To celebrate Global Running Day, the Kentucky Derby Festival is opening registration for next year’s weekend of races with an exclusive 24-hour promotion,” said Chris Martini, Kentucky Derby Festival Race Director. “This is your chance to score deals on registration and secure your spot for the 2026 miniMarathon, Marathon and Festival 5K. Don’t wait to register, this deal is for one day only!”
Beginning at midnight EST on Wednesday, June 4 through midnight EST on Thursday, June 5, registration will be offered at DerbyFestivalMarathon.com at a discounted rate:
- $50 for the miniMarathon
- $60 for the Marathon
- $45 for the 5K
- $50 for the Virtual mini & Marathon
- $325 for the Marathon Relay
Register early for the lowest rates for the mini, Marathon and Festival 5K. Prices will increase gradually throughout the promotion window for every 200 participants who register.
As part of the Global Running Day promotion, special race merchandise will also be available, including a running hat and a Headsweats brand headband. The classic-style hat will keep you cool and comfortable, and The Ultra tech exercise headband is ideal for all runners. Merchandise can be added onto a race registration purchase at DerbyFestivalMarathon.com during the one-day promotion.
Global Running Day is a worldwide celebration of running that encourages people of all ages and abilities to get moving. The GE Appliances miniMarathon and Marathon is set for Saturday, April 25. 2026 marks the 53rd run of the miniMarathon and the 25th year for the Marathon. Runners from all 50 states and several countries come to Louisville on the last Saturday in April. The second annual Festival 5K Presented by First Urology is scheduled for Friday, April 24.
