1/10/18 – FREE TRAINING FOR KDF MINI AND MARATHON KICKS-OFF JANUARY 11

Thursday, January 11, is the kick-off for the Norton Sports Health Derby Festival Training Program to prepare runners and walkers for the Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon and miniMarathon set for Saturday, April 28. The free 15-week Norton Sports Health Training Program offers training tips and weekly group runs for participants with all levels of experience. Runners and walkers can register for the training program online at www.derbyfestivalmarathon.com.

The kick-off includes distribution of the free training manual; overview of the 2018 miniMarathon and Marathon; as well as introduction of the Norton Sports Health Training Experts and Physicians. Participants will have the opportunity to meet and talk with members of the Norton Sports Health Team to get their questions answered before they begin training. Attendees will also have the chance to check out the exhibits at the Kentucky Derby Museum commemorating the annual Run for the Roses.

This is Norton Sports Health’s sixth year as title sponsor of the Training Program, as well as the Official Training Partner and Medical Provider. They are joined by contributing sponsor, Swags Sport Shoes, and media sponsor, 102.3 Jack FM.

PARKING NOTE: Due to the construction currently taking place at Churchill Downs, parking for the Derby Museum has been temporarily moved. Attendees will enter through Gate 10 and park in the Churchill Downs Longfield Lot and use the free shuttle to get dropped off at the front of the Derby Museum.
