1/30/19 – REGISTRATION PRICES ARE GOING UP FOR DERBY FESTIVAL ROAD RACES

January 30, 2019. Louisville, KY. – Now’s the time to sign up for the 2019 Humana Kentucky Derby Festival miniMarathon and Marathon. Registration prices increase this Friday, February 1st. Runners and walkers waiting to sign up will want to register soon to save money and guarantee their spot in Kentucky’s largest road race.

Current registration prices are $80 for the miniMarathon and $90 for the Marathon. Registration is open online at DerbyFestivalMarathon.com. (Participants not registered yet can use the code WHYWAIT19 until midnight January 31st for a special registration discount.)

There’s also a Relay option this year with shorter distances for those who don’t want to run the half or full marathon. The Relay includes 5 legs along the Marathon route, with distances including two 5K’s, two 10K’s and one 12.5K. Relay teams can be made of 3 to 5 participants. The entire relay team will have the opportunity to cross the finish line together.

“There’s still plenty of time to train for the half or full marathon,” said Shanna Ward, Race Director.
“For those who prefer shorter distance runs, the Relay is a great option.”

This year’s race is set for Saturday, April 27, 2019, and will mark the 46th year for the miniMarathon and 18th year for the marathon. Both races start simultaneously at 7:30 am on Main Street near Slugger Field and finish at the intersection of Preston and Witherspoon streets.
