October 18, 2019, Louisville, KY. – If you’re planning to cross the finish line of the Humana miniMarathon, Marathon or Relay next April, the Norton Sports Health Training Program will give you a head start. The 15-week program helps prepare runners and walkers for the Derby Festival’s road races. Registration for the FREE program opens online Monday, October 21st at DerbyFestivalMarathon.com.
The Norton Sports Health Training Program offers training advice and weekly group runs for participants of all levels of experience. The first 800 to register to participate in both the Training Program, AND the Derby Festival miniMarathon, Marathon or Relay receive a free tech shirt.
The official kick-off for the program is set for Jan. 9, 2020, at 6 p.m. at the Kentucky Derby Museum. The January meeting includes distribution of the free training manual; overview of the 2020 races; as well as the opportunity to meet and talk with members of the Norton Sports Health Team before training begins.
The 47th annual 13.1-mile miniMarathon and 19th annual 26.2-mile Marathon will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2020.

Since 1956, the Derby Festival has worked to bring the community together in celebration. The Festival is an independent community organization supported by 4,000 volunteers, 400 businesses and civic groups, Pegasus Pin sponsorships and event participation. This involvement has made the Festival the largest single attended event in Kentucky and one of the leading community celebrations in the world.
