March 27, 2014 Louisville, KY. – Tickets are available now for the first ball of the Derby season – the 58th annual Fillies Derby Ball. Set for Friday, April 11th in the Archibald Cochran Room of the Galt House Hotel, this ball is one of the Kentucky Derby Festival’s longest standing traditions and most elegant events.
Themed “A Black and White Affaire,” all attendees are encouraged to wear black or white this year, or a combination of both. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails, followed by dinner at 8:15. Dinner music will be provided by Louisville’s own Robbie Bartlett. For dancing, live musical entertainment will be provided by Burning Las Vegas.
“With the help of Burning Las Vegas, we’re turning up the heat for this year’s Derby Ball,” said Trish Osborn, Fillies Ball Chair. “This is one of the social highlights of the year and we’ll continue that tradition. It will be another great night for dinner, dancing and celebrating Derby time in Louisville.”
The Fillies Derby Ball is also the largest fundraiser for the Kentucky Derby Festival Foundation, KDF’s charitable arm. A portion of proceeds from the ball benefits the Foundation.
Tickets are $175 each or a table of 10 for $1,750. VIP tables are also available for $2,200. Tickets include appetizers, dinner and dancing. For tickets call (502) 572-3856.
The highlight of the Derby Ball – which is planned and produced by The Fillies, Inc. – is the coronation of the Kentucky Derby Festival Queen, to be selected by the traditional spin-of-the-wheel. Suzann Thompson, 2014 Fillies President, will do the honors.
