4/29/2014 – $1 MILLION PRIZE STILL UP FOR GRABS IN HOLE-IN-ONE GOLF CONTEST

April 29, 2014. Louisville, KY.   – Spotty showers tonight didn’t keep golfers from taking a swing for a $1 million dollars at the Finals of the Stock Yards Bank Kentucky Derby Festival $1 Million Dollar Hole-In-One Golf Contest.  56 competitors took swings in both rainy and dry conditions as showers moved through the area, but none were able to ace Hole #8 at Seneca Golf Course.

John Cook of Louisville came closest to the pin, hitting his tee shot 3 feet and half an inch from the cup.  Cook won a $5,000 first prize.

A crowd of about 300 turned out at Seneca to watch the 56 Finalists. Any golfer who earlier made a hole-in-one during the qualifying rounds automatically qualified for the Finals and a shot at the $1 million. Any amateur player was eligible to enter. Everyone from scratch golfers to duffers took a swing at qualifying.

The Stock Yards Bank Kentucky Derby Festival $1 Million Dollar Hole-In-One preliminaries were held at the Seneca Golf Course Driving Range. The contest started April 17 and ran through April 27. Each shot was only $1, with special prices and promotions available for more than one shot.
