4/7/2017 – TAKE A TRIP TO BOURBONVILLE WITH KENTUCKY DERBY FESTIVAL

April 7, 2017. Louisville, Ky. – Tickets are still available for one of the Derby Festival’s newest events – King Southern Bank BourbonVille – celebrating Kentucky’s home-grown spirit.  Hosted at the Louisville Palace, next Thursday, April 13th at 6 p.m., the Festival hopes to attract bourbon connoisseurs and new comers alike.

“With Louisville at the center of the Bourbon boom, it seemed like the perfect time to add a bourbon event to the Derby Festival’s line-up,” said Mike Berry, Kentucky Derby Festival President & CEO. “We want this to be a unique experience for bourbon lovers, and those who are new to the drink.”

BourbonVille will feature signature cocktails from several Kentucky Bourbon Distilleries, including Evan Williams, Jim Beam, Four Roses, Flat Boat, Woodford Reserve and Old Forester, to name a few. The different brands are expected to present the spirit straight, of course, but also in specialty drinks, food and other variations. There will also be opportunities to mix and mingle with the Master Distillers and Brand Ambassadors.

Guests will be able to enjoy a wide-selection of Bourbon-inspired cuisine. The menu includes gourmet cheese boards, smoked brisket on bourbon butter mashed potatoes, gourmet deviled eggs with smoked bacon and bourbon paprika, smoked salmon cake with bourbon caper sauce and more. For a full menu, visit KDF.org.

Each of the distilleries will build custom bars for the event inside the Louisville Palace. There will be a silent auction featuring bourbon inspired packages with everything from bourbon cocktail mixes and apparel to barrel heads and collectibles. Liquor Barn is also hosting a cigar and bourbon lounge, where it will present its own bourbons and top cigars.

General Admission Tickets are $50 and will include bourbon and food tasting, as well as a commemorative glass and a BourbonVille Pin. Tickets are available by calling (502)584-FEST or online at KDF.org. This is a 21 and over only event, guest must present ID upon entry.

The inaugural Bourbonville event is sponsored by King Southern Bank, with Contributing Sponsors Falls City, Liquor Barn and Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Since 1956, the Derby Festival has worked to bring the community together in celebration. The Festival is an independent community organization supported by 4,000 volunteers, 400 businesses and civic groups, Pegasus Pin sponsorships and event participation. This involvement has made the Festival the largest single attended event in Kentucky and one of the leading community celebrations in the world.
