Limited number of Charity Bibs available
April 14, 2014. Louisville, KY. – Registration is now closed for the 2014 Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon and miniMarathon presented by Walmart and HumanaVitality. The date of the races is Saturday, April 19. Combined registration for both races has reached 16,000 participants. There will be no late registration.
Race organizers will offer 250 “Charity Bibs” for runners who missed the registration deadline. The bibs – which allow entry into either the Marathon or miniMarathon – cost $125, with proceeds going to the Kentucky Derby Festival Foundation, the Derby Festival’s charitable arm. The Charity Bibs will only be available at the Race Expo and Packet Pick-up on April 17-18 at the Kentucky International Convention Center. The bibs will be first-come, first-served starting at 4 p.m. on April 17. The Charity Bibs are tax-deductible.
The races, which will begin simultaneously at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, will start near on Main Street in downtown Louisville (near Louisville Slugger Field) and will finish at Preston and Witherspoon streets. The runners will also run through the main gate at Churchill Downs for their lap through the infield.

Since 1956, the Derby Festival has worked to bring the community together in celebration. The Festival is an independent community organization supported by 4,000 volunteers, 400 businesses and civic groups, Pegasus Pin sponsorships and event participation. This involvement has made the Festival the largest single attended event in Kentucky and one of the leading community celebrations in the world.
