We’re excited to offer the Virtual PNC Tour de Lou again in 2022!

Complete your virtual ride and submit your results anytime between April 16 – May 16, 2022.

The PNC Kentucky Derby Festival Tour de Lou Training Program is a FREE 6-week program designed for bicyclists of all experience levels. The training program will feature weekly group bike rides led by the Louisville Bicycle Club. 

Training tips and bike safety will also be provided. Be one of the first 100 to register for both the Training Program & PNC Tour de Lou and receive a FREE tech shirt. 

The Socially-Distanced training rides will take place at noon on weekends starting February 27nd through April 3rd. The first ride will be 5 miles and will increase by 5 miles each week. All rides will meet in the Paul Ford Lot.



Training Schedule: All Rides start at Noon on Sunday

  • Week #1: 5 Mile Training Ride & Rider 101 – Sunday, February 27th
  • Week #2: 10 Mile Training Ride – Sunday, March 6th
  • Week #3: 15 Mile Training Ride – Sunday, March 13th
  • Week #4: 20 Mile Training Ride – Sunday March 20th
  • Week #5: 25 Mile Training Ride – Sunday, March 27th
  • Week #6: 30 Mile Training Ride – Sunday, April 3rd


What is the Virtual Tour de Lou?   

The PNC Kentucky Derby Festival Tour de Lou is a non-competitive, un-timed bicycle tour that usually takes place through Louisville, KY.  

This year, we’re offering both an In-Person (socially distanced) PNC Tour de Lou and a Virtual PNC Tour de Lou, in order to let you ride in the way you feel the most comfortable. 

If you choose to ride Virtually, you can complete any distance of the PNC Tour de Lou on your own time, at your own pace. You can even choose your own route! Here’s How:  

  1. Register HERE.
  2. Get ready to ride 
    • You’ll receive a virtual bib closer to your ride date in your email 
    • Need a route? Visit to download a GPS  
  3. Get your SWAG 
    • Expect to receive your Official 2021 Virtual PNC Tour de Lou Rider SWAG pack in April  
  4. Ride any time between April 18 – May 18  
    • Log your ride results via BikeSignUp after April 18 
  5. Share and Celebrate with #KYDerbyFestival!  


What is the Tour de Lou?   

The PNC Kentucky Derby Festival Tour de Lou is a non-competitive, un-timed bicycle tour that usually takes place through Louisville, KY.  

This year, we are offering a virtual  PNC Tour de Lou in addition to our in person event  in order to allow riders to participate anywhere, and in any way they feel most comfortable.  


How long is the Virtual Tour de Lou?   

Riders will still get to choose the distance that best suits them. We have 20 miles, 35 miles and Metric Century (62.1 miles) options for your ride registration. 


Do I have to ride the Tour de Lou on April 18?    

No! You can choose a day and time that works for you, just make sure you complete your ride by May 18, 20201 [Submission form closes at midnight]. You can submit your results any time after April 18 via BikeSignUp. 


How do I get my ride packet and materials?   

You can download your virtual bib from BikeSignUp in your rider profile after April 1.  For your convenience, we will be mailing all virtual participants their 2021 package.  You can expect to receive this in early April, 2021. 

In order to receive your packet, make sure your address is up to date in BikeSignup. You can do this by logging into run sign up and checking your “rider profile”. 


I deferred my 2020 ride, what do I do next?   

If you made the decision to defer your 2020 registration to 2021, check the email you signed up with to find a new link to re-register. Reach out via our Facebook Page or email us at if you have questions! 


What are my route options and how to I find them?   

One of the benefits of the virtual ride is that you can pick the route that YOU like best. Visit our Route Library HERE and find out more about how to get and download FREE GPS files and Turn-by-Turn directions in the dropdown below.

How To Download & Use GPS Routes:

  1. Open the Ketucky Derby Festival Route Library page by Clicking HERE.
  2. Click on the Route Name (highlighted in orange) for the GPS route you need.
  3. Click the orange Send To Device button in the lefthand side menu to your phone or other device.
  4. Once you’ve selected your device choice, the pop-up menu will prompt you to create a FREE account and download the Free app to your device.
  5. The set of pop-up menus will guide you through the process, including texting you a direct link to download the app.
